It's that time of year again! It's time to start planning #WaterCarnival2024! This year's Water Carnival Scripts are due March 1st, at 5PM. Please message the page or any board member if you have any questions!
Have you ever thought of directing a Fort Stockton Water Carnival?
Please read below for script outline & requirements:
Overview-
The Ft. Stockton Water Carnival Assn. will call for scripts from the public, between January and February each year for a theatrical production type show to be performed on the third weekend in July of said show year. Anyone from the public (except for an active FSWC board member) may submit a script to be presented to the FSWC Board of directors, scripts can have a general outline or be based off any TV SHOW, MOVIE, GAME, ACTUAL THEATER PLAY WRITE, HISTORICAL OR WORLD EVENT, ETC but must be written in the person (directors) own word and format.
What the script must include at time submitted to the FSWC Board:
The theme of the show
A cast for the show
Dialogue for the cast
Music for each act (dance, swim, etc.)
General costumes for each act and cast (if cast is to be in any special act)
List of props or what props will need to be built.
North and East wall (backdrop) idea or layout
There will be an act for:
4 & 5-year-olds
1st, 2nd, 3rd grade swim and dance
4th,5th grade swim and dance
Middle school swim and dance
HS couples swim
HS girls swim and dance
HS boys swim (may include MS boys if act director request)
Ladies swim and dance
A Finale with all cast
The entire show start to finish must be between 1 hour and 1 hour and 15 min long (this will be critiqued several times closer to the show date due to songs for acts being cut and changing of props between acts)
The show must be PG rated as it is a family show, music and costumes will follow this guideline.
The director of a submitted script will be called and given a date, time, and location to present his or her script to the Board of directors and may me asked several questions pertaining to the script. If chosen, they will sign a contract for use of their script by the Fort Stockton Water Carnival Association.
Let us know if you have any questions!
